The iF Design Award has been recognizing cutting-edge product design across the globe for over 70 years, receiving over 6,000 submission from 70 countries annually. Siemens and the iF Design Award share the common belief that form does not follow function. It is the working together of these two, in perfect unison, that leads to product design that impacts society. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Siemens Home Appliances continues to excell at these awards, picking up nine awards in one year and eight at another.

Innovative interior honor only the very best in interior design, making the international competition a crucial trend barometer. Siemens Home Appliances has been awarded one of the top German awards for design on multiple occasions, achieving double success with the freeInduction Plus hob and the innovative iQ700 varioLift ceiling hood, which was voted “Best of Best”.

Considered to be one of the world’s most distinguished design competitions, the German Design Council confirmed Siemens Home Appliances‘ superior design expertise with a total of four distinctions in 2020. In the category “Excellent Product Design – Kitchen”, the minimalist iQ700 induction hob with activeLight was awarded a “Gold”, the highest honor. An international jury of experts also placed three other Siemens home appliances in the “Winners” circle: the movable varioLift ceiling hood, the large-size, a cool premium built-in appliance series, and the handle-free iQ700 French Door fridge-freezer.

Born in Essen (Germany) in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award has grown to be one of the most acclaimed product design awards in the world. Today, it has become more than a standard design competition, shinning a spotlight on current and future trends in industrial design.
