Freestanding microwaves
Quality materials and distinctive design make Siemens freestanding microwaves an excellent fit for modern kitchens, along with enhanced key features, such as intelligent sensor technology. Choose from a variety of colours and sizes to fit your design vision.
Much more than a microwave
Siemens microwaves are tailor made for the modern kitchen – with intelligent functions, high-end materials, an intuitive interface, and our distinctive yet understated design. Our models with an integrated grill function blur the lines between microwave and oven, allowing you to evenly brown a wide range of dishes. The Siemens microwave oven bakes, cooks and grills, but also defrosts.
What to consider when buying a microwave
Choosing between a freestanding or built-in microwave depends on how much space is available and how you intend to use the appliance, among other things. Since built-in microwaves and combination ovens must be professionally installed, they are usually considered when designing a new homes, remodeling a kitchen, or replacing an old built-in appliance.
Built-in microwaves are not only stylish but also a great space-saving solutions for smaller kitchens. However, the flexible freestanding microwaves can be helpful if space is limited and daily usage is not required, since they can be packed away when not in use.
Combination microwave ovens provide great functionality and convenience while making optimal use of the available space. The integrated microwave in selected Siemens ovens can be used in combination with conventional oven heating, or independently as a fully-functioning microwave. This means you can defrost and cook up to 50% faster at any time.
The optimal size of your microwave depends on how much space you have available, as well as how many people are in your household. If you're only cooking for one or two, our 59cm x 38cm and 44cm x 26cm models are ideal. But if you have more mouths to feed, we recommend opting for a 60cm x 38cm or 60cm x 45cm model. Before you buy, measure the installation/placement area, check the length and depth of your preferred model, and make sure to leave some space for ventilation around the edges and the back of the microwave.
Additionally, you will need at least 20 litres capacity if you plan to use the microwave to sterilize objects (e.g. baby bottles). Siemens microwaves range from 20 litres capacity in our smallest models up to 36 litres.
The number of watts tells you how powerful it is. The more watts you have, the faster it will cook your food. Siemens standalone microwaves and ovens with integrated microwaves come in 800W and 900W versions, providing the strongest performance. Appliances with 700W or less still ensure evenly cooked results while taking a bit more time.
In addition to premium styling, and high-quality German engineering, Siemens microwaves offer a number of innovative features.
- touchControl allows the temperature to be controlled by entering it directly or by moving the slider with a single finger.
- The intuitive TFT display makes it easy to find the right setting for your dishes.
